ABRASIVE
ABRASIVE
Desire
(Semen Demon Productions)
24:15min

Brutal Death / Grind from Germany one more time... And no, surprisingly NOT from the East Frisia area in this case. ABRASIVE are from the Southern part of the country, but still deliver some very intense shit. This MCD is the follow up release to their 1999 debut "Victim" and features seven tracks - three of them are kinda brand new, while the others have previously been on their "Desire" promo already. Musically the band certainly takes no prisoners and their intensity and straight ahead brutality often reminds on all the brutal US Death Metal acts that are around these days. Unfortunately the recording suffers a little bit from a not thaaaat convincing sound / production, which definitely should be worked on in the future in order to blow my speakers completely. What I totally dislike is their disgusting taste when it comes to the visual side of their CD - I won't reveal any secrets here right now (you can check it out on their website...), but gotta tell you that a release with a cover like this definitely wouldn't get professionally distributed, nor would bigger shops carry it (but I suppose the band couldn't care less). It has probably something to do with their also rather annoying porn / sexual orientated lyrical approach (which I also totally dislike in combination with brutal Death Metal!). But as tastes are different, you still might find it interesting and therefore I will just give you the price (6Euro - ppd.) and address: Alexander Mäckle, Pfostenbergweg 21, 73207 Plochingen, Germany, email: maeckle@semendemon.de, internet: www.semendemon.de
