AGGRESSIVE MUTILATOR
AGGRESSIVE MUTILATOR
Det Djävlanästet
(self-financed)
18:03min

The self-proclaimed masters of "Swedish Black Metal Mutilation" are torturing the public again. This must be release number 15, I guess the list of reviews at the end of the page is going to be longer than this review. Of course nothing has changed within the realm of AGGRESSIVE MUTILATOR. Which means we have a rude and unpolished sound, but it works perfectly for this kind of music. The base is still very simple riffs in the vein of VENOM and HELLHAMMER combined with classic Heavy Metal guitar solos. And the vocals? Well, even after I have been listening to this output several times during the last days, I am still undecided. This snarling, puffing and blowing vocals are perfectly fitting to the music but somehow, at the same time, evoking a feeling of ridiculousness. But since the whole band has and always will be some kind of love it or hate kind of thing the decent listeners know what to expect. The negative and really bad sounding part of "Det Djävlanästet" are the keyboard instrumentals 'Bland Löss Och Annat Fanskap' and 'The Orb', sounding like toddler playing on a kiddie-keyboard. That is somehow sad, since I like the approach of this Swedish duo to play Black Metal without any motives but just the personal taste. https://aggressivemutilator.bandcamp.com
