AGGRESSIVE MUTILATOR
AGGRESSIVE MUTILATOR
Crushed By Tyranny
(self-financed)
13:58min

Simple punkish Black Metal that’s heavily influenced by early BATHORY is what Swedish outfit AGGRESSIVE MUTILATOR throws at us from hell’s smoldering abyss and while one definitely has to criticize the complete absence of inventiveness, songs like the opener 'Blasphemic Lust', 'Total Autopsy' (which was also on the band’s first demo) or 'War Of Armageddon' are entertaining primitive tracks that should get down nicely with a couple of pints! Founded in 2011, this is the band’s second demo this year apart from a 7” EP (“Gutpuking – Satan’s Hammer”, ltd. to 53 copies) and hell bangers and iron boneheads should be enjoying it instantly: solid snarling vocals, straight drumming courtesy of M. Zetterberg (TERRORAMA, SPETÄLSK, GRIFTEGARD…), driving punk riffs combined with a melodic, metallic flavor inspired by ancient Heavy Metal is what you’ll get. However, AGGRESSIVE MUTILATOR still lack the class and incredible charm of country mates NIFELHEIM who surely master the art of fuelling Black Metal / Black Thrash with doses of obscure Heavy Metal to create a malicious yet unique sound. AGGRESSIVE MUTILATOR are still caught in the conflict of not being special on one hand and not sucking at all on the other, this is material for die hard freaks worshipping the raw and primitive Black Metal of old and as there are no reasons for complaints also in terms of production I recommend checking it out even though I’m not excessively excited about this offering.
