ALESTORM
ALESTORM
Leviathan
(Napalm Records)
17:45min

300 years ago the North Sea was a dark place crowed by ruthless pirates... - all right these times are definitely gone and the Metal pirates ALESTORM are not exactly a modern version of their evil Scottish ancestors. The band which is presenting with the "Leviathan" MCD a kind of warm up to their second release is a young and fresh Metal band which is fusing the wellknown RUNNING WILD universe with the so called Battle Metal style - a wild mixture of Power and Black Metal plus the maximum amount of bombast. But ALESTORM has created their own style over the years and isn't frightened of adding some Caribbean drums for example just to give their pirate identity further background. I know that this band can't expect any underground credibility due to the fact that their music is in some way maybe two degrees too bright but the 4 songs (including one song with German lyrics far away from a possible 'Herz Aus Stahl' disaster) are full of power and energy and I promise that after a handful of beer every true Metal heart will try to get on board of the new Battle (Metal) flagship. www.napalmrecords.com, www.alestorm.net
