BETRAYTOR

BETRAYTOR
We're Not Dead
(self-financed)
14:02min

Israel on the loose! BETRAYTOR just warped me back in time (before I discovered Metal) and even before the first wave of Death Metal was spotted somewhere at the horizon. A time where Thrash Metal reigned supreme with KREATOR, SODOM, DESTRUCTION, TANKARD, SLAYER, EXODUS and all well known gods from the past in their glory days! Seriously!! A description like this won't impress anybody anymore, but the demo "We're Not Dead" sounds so authentic, so pure, so THRASH it's unbelievable! It's got all the goodies like the raw production, groupy backing vocals, the right dose of groove, demented artwork and most important of all in this underground releases: the right high-pitched feeling. Unoriginal but ten times better than all these revival wannabe old school crap bands that come out these days! Vocalist Eliahu Sela reminded me of PENTAGRAM's Anton Reisenegger on their first (cult) demo. Only a bit less angry. Riffs and production resembled DESTRUCTION. I could go on dismembering all pieces, but the best you can do is to order this demo with the three timeless bangers 'Zombie Infantry', 'Toxic Warzone' and 'Thrash Assault' either directly from the band or through Israhellbanger Records. You (and even the pessimists) will be pleasantly surprised! This is an ode to Metal when it was still pure and unpolished... marvellous! Great to see such dedication emerging from Israel by the way. Check: www.myspace.com/betraytorband or www.israhellbanger.com for details.
