BLIZZARD

BLIZZARD
The Return Of Pure Filth & Mayhem
(Evil Spell / Undercover Records)
12:20min

BLIZZARD's latest EP may being sounding like something BLUT AUS NORD may have used on "Ultima Thulee", but they quickly bare their thrashing teeth in less than four minutes. Germany has always been home to some of the best Thrash Metal in history. As it was in the 80s when the country pushed Thrash to even more brutal extremes, so do they today, years later, remind the rest of the world that the magic may be recaptured in the digital age. BLIZZARD, like their countrymen DESASTER, have listened to more than a few VENOM, MOTÖRHEAD, TANK and SADISTIK EXEKUTION records for them to have crafted a sound like this. The third track, 'The Devil's Land' showcases the MOTÖRHEAD influence like a bathroom made of glass. It wouldn't surprise me if MOTÖRHEAD had in fact recorded this song sometime in '82 and forgot about it only for BLIZZARD to re-discover it and adopt it as their own 26 years later. Thrash all the way. This EP comes in a gatefold sleeve and is limited to 400 black and 100 blue vinyls. www.myspace.com/blizzardoffiziell
