CATARRHAL
CATARRHAL
Putressence
(Rotten To The Core)
32:36min

And again a new release from the Rotten To The Core label. It's the first full length CD from CATARRHAL, also from Belgium. Funny is, my translator didn't know the word "Putressence" with double s. It only suggests "Putrescence", which means "Fäulnis" in German. But ok. The short note announces brutal Death Metal with guttural vocals and room for great riffing. And that is what you get. Again not spectacular and also heard again and again. The band is musically without a doubt above the average and the songs are well played and good produced. From the third song it gets a little bit more groovy and technical and the guitarist shows his skills with some nice solos. The vocals are deep growls but without any variation. All in all this is not a bad record but you already heard everything from other bands over and over again. So for maniacs, who can't get enough of SUFFOCATION, MORBID ANGEL and so on it's another piece for the collection. www.catarrhal.be or www.rttc.eu
