Although Heavy Metal has an aura, a halo of mystery and darkness over it, more than once some humor is welcome. That humor can be contained within the music, the lyrics or the band name. But then again 20 years ago that was something more or less done as a side effect, especially by Thrash and Hardcore influenced bands. The term “Party Metal” was invented just some few years ago, and that is beyond retard, although listening to Metal on a party is not that bad, but it has derived in a way that it equals “retarded Metal”. Related to the part of being like a “party” or a “fun” Metal band where the idea is just to express the contained aggression, some musical styles bastardized. Thus that abomination named Deathcore started. Stealing riffs from early Swedish melodic Death Metal, adding happy melodic Punk, and lots of jumps. Naming bands with senseless words, and talking about social / everyday themes while criticizing all around. That is the definition of this band. While I would say that the Deathcore or Thrashcore this band does is not the worst I have heard, this is just intolerable to my ears. If they were just another Hardcore band this would be a lot better, at least for what a song like 'Your Average Hero' shows. But as soon as they started showing those melodic Death riffs and screamy vocals it all fells down. Fans of the style will like it, whereas us Death / Black / Thrash / Speed Metal purists will vomit for weeks after hearing this. www.facebook.com/chopsticksuicide, http://peyote.com.tr/v3
