CHROMATIC DARK
CHROMATIC DARK
Inhuman Conviction
(self-financed)
13:55min

Already the 4th demo / EP from the melodic and modern sounding Finnish Death / Thrash Metallers CHROMATIC DARK, reveals the band as the meanest and most aggressive sounding combo as ever before. In between each of their previous 3 demo releases, CHROMATIC DARK have been sporting with some obvious melo-Death elements (similar to bands like IN FLAMES and DARK TRANQUILLITY especially), adding bits and pieces from a hard-edged Thrash - and Death Metal into their songs, sort of trying to establish something more musically that could be considered as their own, specific style. Every time they have done something right, but then again, also something a bit wrong that has left something more to be hoped for. As said earlier, now this Oulu-based Metal group CHROMATIC DARK have reached that crucial point and style in my opinion where they should try to stick to, and develop and refine their sound from these grounds the way that would eventually blow all our heads out of the shoulders once and for all. Gone are pretty much totally all those musical references to both IN FLAMES' as well as DARK TRANQUILLITY's directions; these Finnish fellows do sound way more harsh, more masculine and simply sinfully heavier than those 2 aforementioned yet highly popular Swedish Metal acts have done for many years. CHROMATIC DARK count on more straightforward, dark-flavored and balls-to-the-wall sounding Metal - still finding some essential yet so necessary, melodic nuances as an important part of their newly found heavier and darker direction on this 3-track demo-EP. There's also a good amount of variety pushed into the band's 4th offering, clearly proving the guys have taken their time while thinking of the final execution of the songs on "Inhuman Conviction". Especially I could honestly claim that the final song, titled 'Paypack' on this promises arousing EP, is perhaps their most thought-out and most pleasing track CHROMATIC DARK have penned down so far - showing some certain finesse what they are actually capable of taking out from their own challenging Metal machine. Be your own judge up next and just check them out. You may find it worth your time, and even thank me later for doing so. www.myspace.com/chromaticdark
