CRACK ADDICT
CRACK ADDICT
Demo 2003
(self-financed)
18:36min

If you judge this band just by its band name then you would probably think CRACK ADDICT are a type of Metalcore band. But you would be completely wrong here because this five piece outfit from Tokoshima City / Japan delivers a cool dose of (Satanic) Death Metal. Their four songs on this simply entitled "Demo 2003" release are quite ok. They are fairly produced for a demo and feature all trademarks which you expect from this type of music. Fast riffing, tempo changes, like a sewing machine pounding drums, heavy mid tempo parts and vocals which vary between slightly deep growls and (blackish) screams. I would say the Swedish style of Death Metal also for sure had an impact on the songwriting (like on quite a few Japanese bands) as there are some nice guitar parts here and there which are typical for this country. Unfortunately I don't have any further / newer information about this diabolic force as I am curious how the new material sounds like and the progression of this band. Of course CRACK ADDICT don't deliver something new or ground breaking but I think it's an entertaining little disc for lovers of underground Metal of Death. http://sound.jp/crack_addict; email: crack_addict6669@hotmail.com.
