CYPHER
CYPHER
Forward Devolution
(self-financed)
13:18min

The story is well known: take a new trend, wait for it getting a little bit sour, and see the underdogs spreading out trying to bite their slice of the cake. Well CYPHER are one of these underdogs, and they play neo -Thrash like countless others now. But I would be unjust to deny them a certain dose of savoir-faire in that. These Dutchmen offer us three intense and fairly enjoyable tracks, in the vein the Swedes made us accustomed of. Excellent musicianship, promising songwriting and obvious enthusiasm are the keywords to grasp what the CYPHER boys are in for. Their style owes a heavy debt to DEW-SCENTED, and the title track shows a lot of potential and gives a clue of what CYPHER could become. The sound on this MCD is very powerful, the production is more than OK, even if the drums are a little buried in the mix. No doubt that CYPHER deserve a record deal, considering what they have to offer with this. Support them and check their website at www.cyphercore.com.
