DAWN OF PERCEPTION
DAWN OF PERCEPTION

Does anyone of you remember the album "Carpet" from Ceremonial Oath? Well, while listening to this 5 song (+ an acoustic intro) demo CD I immediately had to think on this great CD. Dawn Of Perception play some kind of progressive Heavy Metal with Death Metal grunts, but I'd like to call it Gothenburg Death Metal, the way Dark Tranquillity, (old) In Flames or the above mentioned Ceremonial Oath played it years ago. I hope they won't mind this comparison. It's definitely nothing original, nothing new, but this doesn't matter at all as they are doing their job very good and I see a bright future for them. Regarding the fact that this band exists only since December 2004 I really have to admit that the songs here included are great. The CD starts with a cool acoustic intro and the following 5 songs are full of ideas (almost progressive), not comparable to each other, the musicians are very skilled and the layout for a demo CD is just fantastic. Honestly spoken, I'm pretty impressed. So if you are a fan of the above mentioned bands and their early records I definitely can recommend this CD to you.
