DEAD EMOTIONS
DEAD EMOTIONS
Gates To The Unseen
(Medusa Productions)

You can't please everyone... this release already was voted "demo-CD of the month" in the September 2001 issue of (Metal) Hammer magazine, but it simply does nothing to me personally at all. DEAD EMOTIONS is a Bavarian six piece, musically very tight sounding, but still far from what I consider good quality Metal nevertheless. This is more in the moody, Gothic inspired Death Metal style that the German CREMATORY or earlier AMORPHIS made pretty popular - in other words, simple structured, poppy keyboards and two vocalists sharing the deep grunted (quite ok sounding) and clean (not very convincing) vocal styles. The fact that DEAD EMOTIONS also perform some of their songs in German made them even more annoying to me. Sorry, but this is definitely not the type of stuff I put on to get in a good mood. The mainstream crowd may view things differently of course... Contact: www.ofdarkness.de/deademotions or www.dragondesign666.de.
