DENIAL FIEND
DENIAL FIEND
Dead Awakening
(Ibex Moon Records)
7:41min

In case you have been sleeping the last couple of months, let me tell you that DENIAL FIEND is the new home of former MANTAS / MASSACRE vocalist Kam Lee, NASTY SAVAGE drummer Curtis Beeson, ex-DEATH / MASSACRE, SIX FEET UNDER bass player Terry Butler and DOWN BY LAW guitarist Sam Williams, who joined forces to play some very cool old school Death thrashin' Metal with a handful of Punk overtones to it. When we interviewed Kam recently, he used to come up with the description Horror Metal ("Metal with influences from both Death Metal and Horror Punk"), which also sums it up pretty good to me. Prior to the release of "They Rise", the band's incredible Ibex Moon Records debut full length, DENIAL FIEND had already recorded a 3 song demo back in December of 2006. That particular demo featured original versions of the album tracks 'They Rise', 'Cover Me In Blood' and 'Son Of The Creature From The Black Lagoon'... The first two were available for free download from the band's website for some time and also appear on this 7" vinyl EP now. To me personally 'They Rise' and 'Cover Me In Blood' are without a doubt among the best tracks that the band has written so far, so this EP is definitely a good opportunity to ckeck out what DENIAL FIEND musically is all about (in case you still haven't bought the album yet). Due to the fact that it is limited to 500 copies only, it's also a cool collectors item for all those of you who worship the full length. Cool comicbook style artwork and lyrics to both of the songs complete this release. If you can't find it in your usual mailorder lists, make sure to contact Ibex Moon Records directly and ask them for ordering details. www.ibexmoonrecords.com
