Mad Butcher
(High Roller Records)

After releasing the monumental “Eternal Devastation” Germany’s sons of chaos returned with a very good EP paying homage to their mascot, the Mad Butcher in all its glory. This was the time when bands put out EPs to let their fans know they were working on new material, something that got a bit lost in the pass of years. Here we find the band in very good shape with their very own style that means riffs over riffs, the very characteristic vocals of Schmier and for the first time the band doing a cover, a very obscure one if you ask me, of American Metal / Punk band THE PLASMATICS but doing it the way covers should be, paying homage to the original but making it theirs. And this EP also contains one of the most magnificent instrumental songs ever done in the Metal realm with 'The Last Judgment'. One can hear that the band was becoming more mature as things would evolve on their next album. Now High Roller Records have decided to re-release this EP on vinyl and also as a stand alone material on CD with booklet, slipcase and poster, alongside other DESTRUCTION material. Keep your old very cheap presented versions of this EP be part of your collection (my CD comes together with “Eternal Devastation” in a very simple presentation without booklet) and get this one for your every day abuse of high quality German Metal of the highest caliber!,,
