FLESHTIZED
FLESHTIZED
Here Among Thorns
(Mighty Music)
33:49min

The label info describes them as a "wellknown US Death Metal act with a big fanbase...", so have I once again missed out on another important new name to the scene so far maybe?! Honestly spoken, with a bandname like this and a logo which doesn't really convinces me either, I would probably never have checked them out, if I wouldn't have found a free promo copy of their debut full length in my mailbox recently. Stupid me, cause FLESHTIZED is a very cool three piece from Huntsville that has already shared the stage with an immensely big number of wellknown names ever since their origin back in 1996. And you can easily hear that experience in their music as well. "Here Among Thorns" is a collection of songs that the band already played live for quite some time, so everyone who ever managed to see these guys on a stage somewhere in the US might probably recognize one song or another. Musically they are very close to the almighty MORBID ANGEL of which FLESHTIZED also recorded the almost perfectly executed 'Rapture' cover (only the guitars could have turned out a little more brutal). Technically skilled musicianship, an impressive brutal voice and an overall great (but not necessarily original) songwriting combined with a powerful Jacob Hansen production will easily turn you on to these guys. So, all in all a very promising debut album!
