FORLORN LEGACY
FORLORN LEGACY
Paths Of Insanity
(Metalsound Records)
58:00min

Just after I was asked to review the debut album of this Croatian band I wondered what I really know about the Croatian Metal scene, and to be honest I kept the silence for some minutes, 58 to be exact, the time that took me to listen this CD, and my expression after it was just: wow! If the other Croatian bands are on the same level of these guys what the hell I've been doing all these years... Maybe it's not the most original I've heard in my whole life and I'm not a huge fan of the Gothenburg Metal sound but these guys have arranged something really catchy, interesting with a powerful sound, intense riffs with a melodic edge, performed by skilled guys highly influenced by the late Death / Control Denied, At The Gates and "Heartwork" - era Carcass. I know a lot of you reading this review (by the way, my first one for VOICES) are thinking Forlorn Legacy is another crappy second rate At The Gates clone, and to be honest, I should be thinking the same thing but after putting this disc in my player a couple of times, I've started to consider it a very good and entertaining album, not my complete cup of tea, but all in all a very good and recomended debut album. www.forlorn-legacy.com, forlorn_legacy@yahoo.com, www.metalsoundrecords.com
