HATRED EMBRACED
HATRED EMBRACED
Suffering Of The Holy
(self-financed / F.D.A. Records)
23:42min

HATRED EMBRACED, hailing from New Jersey, has arrived to blast us away with a solid dose of heavy, churning Death Metal with some healthy Thrash Metal influences spicing up the guitar riffs, leads and overall composition of the music. A heavy and crushing atmosphere, reminding me of the heydays of the Chicago Death Metal scene, paints the walls of sound, with some aggressive melodic leads, that rips and tears the darkness in pieces and invokes intensity and evil. We are right now in a good period of new Death Metal bands and releases, it seems like the mounds of Death Metal hell have opened and spews forth quite good bands and releases. Most of the Death Metal being made right now, is good old school Death Metal, heavy as fuck with rock solid riffing and an evil and doom-laden atmosphere, that's straight up my alley. That said, not all bands are delivering the most interesting releases, some seem to become a bit stale in time. I've been listening quite a lot to newer releases, and of course "Suffering Of The Holy" as I am reviewing it right now. And to be honest I don’t really know where to place it. It has a lot of great features. I dig the guitars, the drum work, the weight, the overall atmosphere and the compositions ain't that bad as well, though it mud a little bit too much together with other great Death Metal releases these days. Of course it is the band's 3rd demo and I could imagine the first really hard hitting and complete one, as I know it has made some labels turn their heads. And F.D.A. Records has picked up the band and is going to release their debut full length sometime next year. And while we are at F.D.A. they are also the sole distributor of this demo tape, limited to 150 copies, so act fast, even though I have my doubts about the tape, it is quality Death Metal and HATRED EMBRACED will become one of the bands that we all will talk about in a not too distant future, and they music do leave me with a good gut feeling.
