HELLFROST

HELLFROST
Apocalyptic Frostpunk
(Tropical Peace Punk Tapes)
14:28min

This German trio has a soft spot for HELLHAMMER and CELTIC FROST (therefore a very suitable monicker). This is clearly expressed in their appearance as well as in the four tunes that are featured on "Apocalyptic Frostpunk". Punk is definitely a big part of their music, resulting in a very simplistic and minimalistic riff-repeated approach. The production sounds like a rehearsal but it is decent enough and suitable for an old vibe. The guitars are heavy with a fairly aimed approach of "To Mega Therion". The combination of DISCHARGE like songwriting with the riffing of FROST give it some extra coolness and is pretty much enjoyable for this demo… It consists of 4 tracks ('Hellfrost', 'In Cryptic Vaults', 'Raging Chaos' and 'Gates To Infinity') and an intro. Fans of SCEPTER, old USURPER, WOLFPACK and the likes might be pleasantly surprised. This demo is already sold out (it was limited to 50 copies) but you can check the tunes on their website. There's not really more info on the band I can give than what's mentioned on the address below. Really lofi stuff, but the adoration is done with dedication and delivers a decent release. Even the accent of the vocalist helps increasing the charm. For more info check http://hellfrost.jimdo.com.
