HIBERNUS MORTIS
HIBERNUS MORTIS
The Existing Realms Of Perpetual Sorrow
(self-financed)
36:29min

I guess you all know cases of unsigned bands that make you wonder why the hell they do not have a contract yet. HIBERNUS MORTIS are such a case. They have the perfect unholy and brutal Death Metal style that makes me think of acts like the mighty INCANTATION, IMMOLATION, old GRAVE, DETERIOROT or INFAMY. Especially the Californian influence manifests in some grinding yet dark moments like in the song 'The Breed Of Unembodied Impurity'. In addition to that the self financed debut CD "The Existing Realms Of Perpetual Sorrow" containing eight sinister and damn heavy tracks has a professional production (Jeremy Staska e.g. MALEVOLENT CREATION, DIVINE EMPIRE) and all musically essential elements of a first class Death Metal album are existent. Blasting speed, heaviest soul-crushing mid-tempo, old school drive, deep natural sounding growls (not this modern frog noise stuff) and a morbid atmosphere are skilfully combined in songs like the titletrack, 'Mayhemic Prowl' or 'Moral Extinction'. Another plus is the extremely downtuned guitar sound (somewhere below "B"), which creates an extraordinarily heaviness and bass, two thumbs up for that guys!!! It would be unfair and a damn pity if this band remains without honest label support, they really deserve attention and no real Death Metal maniac should miss the chance to check out their material. Therefore surf to www.hibernusmortis.com, listen to an mp3-file, watch a cool live video and expect an interview with those guys here soon! For email contact use: dave@hibernusmortis.com or write a letter to David Miller, 4265 N Meridian Ave, Miami Beach FL, 33140, USA. Killer band!!!
