KAUNIS KUOLEMATON
KAUNIS KUOLEMATON
Kylmä Kaunis Maailma
(Violent Journey Records)

KAUNIS KUOLEMATON ("beautiful immortal" in English) is a relatively fresh Finnish extreme Metal act, sort of a bastard child of Doom, Death, Black and Gothic Metal in one unique package, in which some members from such Finnish Metal acts as BLACK SUN AEON, ROUTASIELU, SINAMORE, END OF AEON, etc., have decided to carry out their twisted and disturbing visions about miseries of life. "Kylmä Kaunis Maailma" (translates as "cold beautiful world" in English), the band's 9-track opus, is a kinda breathtaking experience actually listening wise. In all honesty's name, their Finnish-sung extreme Metal is thoroughly very well crafted on "Kylmä Kaunis Maailma", in which the eternal darkness, misery and all kinds of melancholy are the most prevailing elements really, if such a description can be used about the songs on it. Trying to spot one single overly happy melody line out of this opus, turns out to be a mission impossible because there's none to be found from this crushingly heavy, and deeply darkness-infested record. It's obvious that the lads in KAUNIS KUOLEMATON have done some careful groundwork and research by exploring some of their deepest yet hidden lockers soul wise when putting the songs together for this pretty massive, and somewhat impressive sounding debut of theirs. It's also hard to compare KAUNIS KUOLEMATON to some other bands around them that would sound a bit like them, so I just leave this for you, dear listeners, to be done. Nevertheless, the fact however is they do have a pretty original and unique musical concept in their hands for creating something a bit out of ordinary, differing from today's mainstream when it comes down to some specific sub-genre categories. Saakeli, who is solely responsible for these more extreme sounding vocal lines on this particular album, also rightfully deserves a special mention for his very impressively executed death growls on "Kylmä Kaunis Kuolematon" that create a somewhat fitting contrast to Mikko's clean vocal delivery, overall just balancing out the album's all-swallowing heaviness quite a bit. This is the kind of album that needs to be heard, believe me - and I really don't wanna say more this time... www.facebook.com/kauniskuolematon, label: www.violentjourneyrecords.com
