KNELL
Zero Hour
(Australis Records)
42:50min

Chile has a damn fine Death Metal scene with very strong, unique bands and countless amazing releases. KNELL is another remarkable band and after ten years of existence and three demos Australis Records just released KNELL’s debut full-length “Zero Hour”. And this is also a high quality release. Versatility and variedness are the first words which came to my mind while listening to “Zero Hour” and I would highly recommend this album to all fans of sophisticated technical Death Metal. There is so much to discover on “Zero Hour”. This album delivers a wide range mix of blasting brutality, complexity, atmosphere and some excellent lead guitars. Just imagine latter DEATH with some Black Metal allusions. But that’s also the problem I have with this recording, I don’t like Black Metal and in my eyes the compositions are bit over-ambitious, they put too much into some of the songs and lost the line sometimes. Nonetheless, it is an impressive album and worth your attention if you are a bit more open minded when it comes to Black Metal than I am. www.facebook.com/knellmetal, www.australisrecords.com
