LAY DOWN ROTTEN
LAY DOWN ROTTEN
Breeding Insanity
(Remission Records)
42:19min

This is the first CD I heard from this German band but shortly before receiving this recording I had the pleasure to see them live at a smaller festival in my area and I was pretty impressed about their appearance. Because of that I was really looking forward to get their newest, their 3rd CD called "Breeding Insanity". So what do we get here? LAY DOWN ROTTEN play some kind of old school Death Metal, mostly midpaced with great melodies and very good riffs. I can only advice you to check out songs like 'Within The Veil - The Antidote', 'Into Oblivion' and 'Venomous Blessings' which are Death Metal songs in the way fans of bands like Bolt Thrower, Grave and especially Amon Amarth will adore. E. g. the song 'Venomous Blessings' could easily succeed on the forthcoming Amon Amarth album. Don't take this as a negative thing as we are not talking about a totally outstanding outfit here, but the power and the energy they transfer will make a smile on the face of each Death Metal fan out there. I have to add that "Breeding Insanity" will also be released on a limitied edition double CD including 3 covertunes of Carcass' 'Heartwork', Pantera's 'Domination' and Deep Purple's 'Black Night' + 2 CD-Rom videotracks. I can only advice fans of old school Death Metal to check 'em out!! Website: www.laydownrotten.com. The CD is available from the label www.remissionrecords.de
