Mass Funeral Evocation
(War Anthem Records)
35:33min

Any Lord Of The Rings fans out there? Every time I listened to the debut by LIK from Sweden I felt like Theoden, King of Rohan, when the elves arrived at Helm's Deep. How is this possible? But in my case no anemic elve brigade caused my amazement. Out of nowhere LIK have taken up the legacy of DISMEMBER (the band split-up in 2011). It is all there, the riffs, the sound, the melodic lead-guitars, even more melodic soloing, brutal but at the same time expressive vocals, the typical Sunlight Studio sound. All packed into 35 minutes and that is a good thing. Otherwise I would suffer from cardiac arrhythmia. Just listen to masterpieces like 'Ghoul', 'Death Orgasmic', the slower one 'Skin Necrosis' or... just forget it. You can tune in at every second and will be overwhelmed. At least if you have a passion for Swedish Death Metal. No more words needed, just kneel down in admiration! www.facebook.com/likofficial, www.war-anthem.de
