MORKRIKET
Hellwards
(Twilight Vertrieb)
47:17min

Recently I read an article about a person, who was comatose for 19 years, and this person missed a lot of events happening in the world and he must have been quite amazed to see how many things have changed. So if anyone reading this review was off duty for the same time and missed the so-called second wave of Black Metal, he / she might take a listen to the third full-length album by the German Black Metal outfit MORKRIKET. On "Hellwards" the listener will find all the ingredients that made the Black Metal in the early 1990s so interesting - the hate, the desolation, the darkness. Of course without keyboards and with lyrics that remind of the plain and simple attitude of early IMMORTAL. The weak point about this release is the fact if you have not been comatose for like 15 or 19 years you have listened to this kind of music many, many times before. There is really nothing on this output that has not been done before by countless bands. Personally I rather listen to the original bands back from the old times, but all Black Metal lunatics should take a listen. http://northernoak.de
