MÖRBID VOMIT
MÖRBID VOMIT
Doctrine Of Violence
(Ranka Kustannus)

Finland is surely ripe with Death Metal, no doubt about it, and the new bands just keep popping up all the time. MÖRBID VOMIT released their first demo in 2012 and their course hasn't changed ever since. In fact, I get a sense of déja vu here. A few weeks ago I've reviewed ENDSEEKER's EP which was quite an unimaginative take on Swedish Death Metal. Still for being an EP in length, it delivered a good short dose without overstaying its welcome. And that is the problem with "Doctrine Of Violence". It's a 100% clone out of BLOODBATH, GRAVE and ENTOMBED. The only difference - memorable riffs. The sound is pure Boss HM2 preset, bizzing guitars and fat bass, whereas the song structures sound totally formulaic. Yeah, it gets your feet moving, but around the middle of the set, it starts to get repetitive and boring. I really miss the energy here and some memorable riffs wouldn't hurt too. So there you have it, another well-produced, well-played but utterly generic and formulaic Swedish Death Metal clone. With a name like that I've expected a more raw, punkish sound, but this clean and soulless production takes away any charm that might've been lurking in those compositions. www.facebook.com/morbidvomit, www.rankakustannus.fi
