MUTILATOR's debut record "Immortal Force" recently got re-released and it is more than a real pleasure to have this Metal Extremo gem available again. There's certainly no need to analyse such a classsic record in depth since most people who frequently visit this website are sure as hell more than familiar with the music on this piece of plastic. Something that should be mentioned is how alive and real this record sounds compared to most of the more recent releases who sprung from a scene where "fashion before passion" is the main motto. MUTILATOR start the record off with non stop power and energy that grips you by the throat only to leave you bleeding and soar afterwards. "Immortal Force" is everything a real Death / Thrash record, or a Heavy Metal record in general, should be. The musicianship and songwriting are definitely not top notch but who cares, it is the overall feeling that counts and this is what gets lost in nowadays color by numbers attitude. Extreme Metal is not for everybody and will never be so why giving it a try? That kinda mentality definitely must be stopped otherwise there won't be records like "Immortal Force" anymore.
