NECROTIC FLESH
NECROTIC FLESH
Gore Gourmet
(MDD Records)
34:05min

It's time for old school Death Metal once again. "If there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth". This line of Romero's classic "Dawn Of The Dead" was inspiration for the great and groopy opening song / intro 'Walk Of The Dead', this makes sure that NECROTIC FLESH stick to their gory roots. They go even further with using samples of other splatter movies as intros for a couple of their songs on this recording. This is probably not the most original idea and done thousand of times before but as it fits to NECROTIC FLESH and its overall gory approach I couldn't care less. For those who haven't heard about NECROTIC FLESH so far should know that next to their gory lyrics (just listen to song titles as 'Searching For Brain Liquor', 'Fucking Her Butchery Wounds', 'Bury In Excrements' or the title track) it's Death Metal with influences from old GRAVE, AUTOPSY, old DEATH and especially PUNGENT STENCH. The label itself even talks about NECROTIC FLESH probably being the unofficial successors of PUNGENT STENCH. Well, why not. "Gore Gourmet" is the first full-length recording of this 3-piece band and the follower of their already quite good MCD "Postmortem Pleasures". From my point of view these guys did a huge development in the right direction as the included 8 tracks on this CD show them from their best (gory?) side. I'm not sure, but I think I saw NECROTIC FLESH live 3 times now and each time they impressed me a lot, as it is not naturally that a 3-piece outfit can create such an impressive wall of sound. And in my humble opinion this CD is even more impressive. It reflects the old school spirit of the above mentioned bands and songs as 'Recently Deceased', the catchy 'Funeral Flesh Feat', 'Sexual Impalement' or the cool 'Breeding Ground For Parasites' show a huge potential and force me to write that this is a CD worth to spend your money on. At the end of this review I can recommend this CD to all those of you who love their Death Metal old school and dirty. Fans of AUTOPSY, old DEATH and especially PUNGENT STENCH will love this release, and so do I! Check it out at www.mdd-shop.de, which is, by the way, a great mailorder with very good prices!
