NEMECIC
The First Morning And The Last Day
(self-financed)
13:45min

Finland's NEMECIC (meaning Greek Goddess of vengeance, by the way) first started out in 2005 under the CROSSFIRE moniker that - just like many other new bands at their early stages, trusted in the name of playing cover songs only from their heroes from those days, i.e. MAIDEN, PRIEST, METALLICA and so on. As this is always the safest way - to start out by playing covers without losing your face right away, for any new and young bands, it also increases confidence and experience within band members for having a need to strive eventually for something more demanding instrumental-wise.  In 2008 NEMECIC's debut 3-track promotional recording, titled "Vigorous Fire And Inward Lightnings" was ready to be unleashed, opening already a few doors to the band, basically letting everyone know they were out there, and hungry for achieving even more for themselves. In early 2011, another 3-track promotional recording, "The First Morning And The Last Day", from NEMECIC was ready to be launched like a trimmed sky rocket high towards the universe.  If the signs of northern stars will be in the right positions for them, I bet we'll be hearing much more from this Finnish modern sounding Death / Thrash outfit in the coming months.  I mean, the amount of playing skills the guys possess inside their troops, is actually well worth checking out. I don't say they are one of the trickiest and most technically advanced bands out there nowadays, but they seem to have this sort of strange inborn tendency to pull exactly from the correct strings to have something darn intriguing in them musically. NEMECIC counts on the same type of groovy Death and Thrash Metal which LAMB OF GOD became known for in their early days, songs shifting from tasty time changes to time changes somewhat naturally.  In fact, a song called 'Annunaki Tombship' has a nice tendency to remind me of LAMB OF GOD's song 'Ruin' off the band's 2004 album, "As The Palaces Burn". The other 2 songs, 'Alpha Aurora' as well as 'Avatars Of Chaos' are also mild reminiscent of the similar style of what LAMB OF GOD has become known for during their career, but gladly leading toward more traditional, modern-style Death / Thrash  Metal, which saves them from getting a 'plain LAMB OF GOD rip-off' tag stamped on their backs. Vocalist Joonas Alanko alias Psycho has got big lungs to grow and shriek convincingly, having about the same caliber grunt-ish and deep death growling capacity as Tomi Joutsen from AMORPHIS. Is there something more even that needs to be told about NEMECIC's 2nd release? Yes, actually I think there is one thing: don't let this band slip through your ears, as they truly are worth hearing. www.nemecic.com
