NEOHERESY
NEOHERESY
Talionis
(Ritual Execution Productions)
47:28min

Well, if you're not into Pagan Metal, it might be a waste of time to continue reading here. The Polish one man band project NEOHERESY is pretty far from being a feast for those into the extreme, brutal and sick. Instead, “Talionis” offers music based on traditional Slavic Folk. These ideas and melodies are interpreted in a way that reminds me more of Neo Folk or Symphonic Black Metal without... uuuhm... the Metal. Some of the ideas are pretty interesting for sure, like the opening 'Krzyk Który Zmienil Sie W Wiatr', the pretty dark 'I Choćby Noc...' or the hymnic 'Purpurowy Błękit'. Yet, all these approaches are pretty soon destroyed by the clinical sound and the powerless, artificial programmed drums. This sound problem ultimately spoils the album for me. Maybe mastermind F should take it into concern to recruit a complete band... But this way, it's thumbs down for “Talionis” You might still check www.neoheresy.pl or http://neoheresy.bandcamp.com for the band or www.rituale-productions.com for the label.
