Coils Of Entropy

NEPHELIUM has its roots in the UAE and rose from the desert sands of Dubai. Brought to life in the late 90s by Alan Madhavan (he used to play as session drummer in NERVECELL as well) and Alex Zubair to create their own blend of Death Metal merging elements from the occident and orient to a unique alloy of extreme music. Their first sign of existence was their "Archaic Malevolent Sorcery" demo in 2002 followed by the band's first EP in 2003 called "Ignite The Wrath Of Silence". Many years and line-up changes later the band, relocated to Canada, finally comes up with its first full length album and a stable line-up. "Coils Of Entropy" consists of six well executed and mature tracks played with the right passion and dedication by very skilled and accomplished musicians. The album should actually please every lover of Metal Of Death with class. Despite the complexity of some of the album's parts, this five piece keeps the music flowing and make the tunes sound quite straight and surprisingly catchy. These are the merrits of all participated persons who also have each enough room to display their technical abilities. Aggressive, crunchy riffs going hand in hand with varied, pounding drum work, excellent rhythm and tempo changes and furious, yet detailed worked out leads. The stuff this quintet has to offer is heavy, providing an excellent atmosphere and is precise like a surgeon's scalpel - refined by a solid, deep voice. A real feast to headbang to if you ask me. Highlights of the album, whose tracks clock between five to ten minutes, are 'Burial Ground', 'Merciless Annihilation' or the epic title track. But all tracks are worth of being heard. Just in case you got tired by the latest offerings from your favourite 'major' Death Metal band why not check this talented outfit out? A nice lethal slap in your face by formerly Dubai based Deathers NEPHELIUM. If you are into stuff like DEATH, NILE, MORBID ANGEL, PSYCROPTIC, SUFFOCATION, DEICIDE and similiar acts you should immediately get in touch with these guys at one of their websites like or
