NEPHENZY CHAOS ORDER
NEPHENZY CHAOS ORDER
Pure Black Disease
(Baphomet Records)
47:08min

This is interesting stuff... I am quite delighted that this output made its way to my desk and I had the pleasure of listening to it in awe. NEPHENZY CHAOS ORDER (NCO) perform an extremely fast, partly relatively technical and dark melange of Black and Death Metal. Well - when it comes to such ventures into combining these extremes one is tempted to think of exquisite acts such as DISSECTION, AETERNUS, ANGEL CORPSE and the likes. Of course, it is kind of trendy meanwhile to trod along this path of innovation, following acts like ZYKLON, for instance, who have introduced modernism and progression to the scene... but it's necessary to prevent stagnation I should think - and therefore I approve of such music. NCO musically proceed like the aforementioned acts. They combine the brutality and passion of Death Metal with the atmosphere and philosophy of Black Metal, which is very intriguing. They sound very modern, the production is razor-sharp and clear... guaranteeing utter power and destruction. The speed with which NCO perform their skills is incredible and very intense. The precision is superb and makes this effort a real pleasure. Partly, the way the guitarists act on their axes reminds me of the current SATYRICON releases. That is, open chords are picked upwardly so that a mean and weird tune evolves. I love this effect 'cause it creates real evilness, which is cool. Well --- what shall I say? This album convinced me due to its aggression and evilness (which is essential to Metal I think... very often this very trait is not achieved by extreme Metal bands anymore 'cause they exclusively indulge in technique, speed, production, deliberate primitiveness), due to its passion, its intensity, its density. Of course, the lyrical conception of this output is misanthropically oriented, which is a bit of a tedious and perpetually regurgitated topic --- but it fits, and that is the important point I assume. Music-wise "Pure Black Disease" is far above average, brilliantly realised, dramatically thrust forth into this stinking colony man constitutes and forms.
