NEVERBORN
NEVERBORN
3-track tape 1993
(self-financed)
11:01min

NEVERBORN was a very short-lived Finnish Thrash Metal act that was formed right after DEMIGOD decided to call it a day back in 1993. NEVERBORN featured 4 ex - DEMIGOD members back then: Esa Lindén on vocals and guitar, Jussi Kiiski on guitar, Sami Vesanto on bass and Seppo Taatila on drums. The guys only recorded one tape / demo in 1993, including 3 songs. 'Gates Of Lamentation' opened up the tape; a violently and viciously attacking in-yer-face Thrash number that also ended up on DEMIGOD's 2nd album "Shadow Mechanics" in 2002. This version on the tape, however, is a rawer yet better version than the one that they recorded for "Shadow Mechanics" as DEMIGOD. The 2nd track, 'Feeble Tears', is a more multi-layered number, tempos varying from fast parts to slower, more atmospheric sections in this tune, offering some of those trademark-ish musical elements, in which DEMIGOD were real masters at: creating deep atmospheres, on their debut album "Slumber Of Sullen Eyes" in particular. The best track, however, an untitled song is saved for the last. It's an instrumental song, which they perhaps never finished completely (getting the vocal parts recorded for it) due to whatever reasons there were at that time. The song itself, delivers its goods amazingly well. Simply try to combine bands like INFERNÄL MÄJESTY, DARK ANGEL, SLAYER and POSSESSED as one tight, mercilessly gaming team - and you may have a tiny clue about some of this song's best assets. In a way I would have hoped these four ex - DEMIGOD lads had continued writing some more stuff under this NEVERBORN moniker - and finally ending up recording a full-length album. Oh well, NEVERBORN is no more, so long live the reunited DEMIGOD! No contact addresses to be given out this time, sorry dear folks.
