NUCLEAR WINTER
NUCLEAR WINTER
Abomination Virginborn
(self-financed)
12:35min

At first I was only interested in the Greek Death Metal label Nuclear Winter, because they feature bands like VERMINOUS / DELVE, NOMINON, IMPURITY etc in their ranks and I contacted Anastasis begging for promos. He send them and also put the demo of his own band sharing the label's name on the CDR, added a xeroed copy of the cover and told me to either review his tape or die! Well... to escape a sudden death I'll give you now my personal comment on the "Abomination Virginborn - Demo 2003" tape. The three songs included here are simply excellent Swedish old school Death Metal with musical references to GRAVE, ENTOMBED, CARNAGE and the likes and vocals which summon sacred memories of listening to the first EDGE OF SANITY, just beautiful... Although the vocals might be improved a little in the direction of sounding more individual I can not find anything worth of being criticised on this release. Damn, those Greek fellows are fucking good!!! A concise and skilfull songwriting, blasting speed, dark and heavy breaks, cool blasphemous lyrics, a few typical "Swedish" melodies, an absolutely perfect production and even the xeroed layout looks awesome - this demo is almost too good to be just a demo and you can bet your ass that this is my honest opinion! Unfortunately I can not give you a link where you can check out a soundfile or something, but surf to the Nuclear Winter Records website (www.nuclearwinter.cjb.net) and contact Anastasis via his email address: nuclearwinter98@hotmail.com, support this mighty band and pray to the horned one that they'll release an album soon. I'm impressed...
