NUNSLAUGHTER
NUNSLAUGHTER
Blood Devil
(Revenge Productions)
09:43min

I think there's no one out there, who expects US-Cult-Deathers NUNSLAUGHTER to change in any way. The masters of primitive old-school Death Metal (a la MASSACRE in the good old demo days) simply create another couple of cool, blasphemous Death Metal songs after another and do not improve or get worse. This new version of classic NUNSLAUGHTER stuff brought forth by the German label / mail-order Revenge Productions is another prove for this thesis. It is almost terrifying how the guys from NUNSLAUGHTER keep up their level of continuity and quality and never seem to fall below that. The five songs on this limited 7" picture EP (the normal version does not contain the blasting 'Resurrection') are as good as the material on "Hell's Unholy Fire", NUNSLAUGHTER's one and only full album (can't wait to hear their next effort "Goat" on Revenge Productions). My personal stand-out tracks are 'Church Bizarre' with some kind of rocking groove and some nice tempo changes that are quite untypical for NUNSLAUGHTER. Also the faster song 'Midnight Mass' is killer! If you have not heard anything of NUNSLAUGHTER yet, I would recommend you their full-length CD, but for the maniacal NUNSLAUGHTER worshippers (like me) this EP is a visual (white-red devil face on the vinyl) and musical pleasure and a potential collector's item (only 500 pieces were made). Get this shit!!!
