OMEGAVORTEX
Promo 2018
(Ancient Spirit Terror)

What we have here is the first sign of life by OMEGAVORTEX, hailing from Germany. Formerly known as AMBEVILENCE, the band released a 10" EP under that monicker in 2015. Like the title suggests this is a release done for promotional reasons, presenting a raw pre-production mix of four songs. Hopefully a record label is willing to give the band a chance to record a full-length, because the four songs definitely have potential. Death Metal performed tenebrious and malevolent with a slight touch of blackened obscurity. Up-tempo drumming with lots of double bass attacks, the guitars are blurred, providing a wall of sound which is broken up by the gargling vocals. At some times the songs are close, very close to tipping over into chaotic noise, but every time the band is getting back to track. Some parts are sounding bumpy and uninspired, particularly the breaks and slower parts, but remember, this is just a raw mix. Any labels missing a band like TRIUMVIR FOUL, TEITANBLOOD or GRAVE MIASMA on their roster should bring OMEGAVORTEX to their focus. For fans: the whole promo tape plus shirt is available on the band's homepage, still named after the predecessor AMBEVILENCE, www.ambevilence.com.
