OMEN
OMEN
Eternal Black Dawn
(Mausoleum Records)
46:06min

Having never been an OMEN specialist, simply because their stuff always sounded too MAIDEN-ish with way too much happy harmonies and lacked of energy. I still can announce to the hordes of OMEN followers that the poor days of "Reopening The Gates" are buried and forgotten with "Eternal Black Dawn". Lovers of medium paced / melodic brand of Metal will be certainly very pleased with the material penned by mainman / veteran Kenny Powell and executed very professionally by his associates, newer guy Kevin Goocher coming out as a brilliant singer. My personal fave is without any doubt 'Burning Times', an envouting track that grabs you by the balls right away, the pair Powell / Goocher delivering an over the top performance. Still I wish the material could have been more powerful with a couple of semi fast ragers since medium paced stuff dominates this album and it gets a bit monotonous after a while. Anyway welcome back guys in the field of real Metal!
