REPOSSESSION
REPOSSESSION
Reign Over Inferno
(Psycho Records)
25:35min

Energetic and punishing; this is one of the many descriptions available for Death Metal, but it's the best fitting for REPOSSESSION. This is most assuredly a band to watch out for. Barring the sometimes scintillating vocals, the guitar-work, drumming, and soloing is fantastic. There are melodies, but of the sort that DISSECTION once wrote; beautiful and a little haunting. This band has taken a bit of a risk, however. As this largely magnificent EP runs its course, it sometimes gestures towards what some might call Metalcore, but I would hardly argue that REPOSSESSION is Metalcore. They are, quite clearly, serious enough about Death Metal to play their instruments, and what's more, their arrangements aren't mindlessly broken down into hip hop beats. REPOSSESSION deserve your attention. www.myspace.com/repossessionpossesseddeathmetal
