THE ROTTING
THE ROTTING
The Dead Won't Leave You Alone
(Time Before Time Records)
11:25min

Listening to "The Dead Won't Leave You Alone", the 2nd demo (as far as I know) by Swedish THE ROTTING takes you on a trip to... Death Metal from around 1987! This demo is released by Polish Time Before Time Records and contain a 11 minute timewarp, wrapped in 4 tracks. The label described this releases as "raw, primitive and rotting Death Metal in the vein of AUTOPSY, GROTESQUE, NIHILIST and ROTTREVORE." Well, not much left for me to add here except that I didn't catch ROTTREVORE... Listening to the tracks 'Free From The Coffin', 'The Dead Won't Leave You Alone', 'Army Of Ghouls' and 'Food For Maggots' did bring same emotions as mentioned bands do, but also those when listening to TRIBULATION, MERCILESS. I guess from the thrashy edge in the riffing. This release is actually impressive, with very cool songs, the right spirit, maybe a bit too muddy production and very capable musicians who got the necessary experience from AWAKEN HORROR, EVISCERATED and ANTICHRIST. And enough variation to keep the rush going. Everything on "The Dead Won't Leave You Alone" is convicing and enjoyable enough for thou highly respected Swedeath addicts. And above all, it sounds quite more rotten and raw than a lot of these new incarnations of Swedish Death Metal popping up everywhere these days! Don't know any price, so best you can do is to check out www.myspace.com/therotting666, www.time-before-time.com. Nice one!
