SATHANAS
SATHANAS
Worship The Devil
(Doomentia Records)
38:12min

Holy shit! The SATHANAS album counter arrived at a proud output No.9! I must say that their 2012 album “La Hora De Lucifer” (PAGAN Records) went pretty much down the drain. On the one hand promotion wise, but also regarding the quality of the production and the whole essence of the album. “Worship The Devil” stands in my opinion again in one line with the great Black Thrashing albums “Crowned Infernal” and “Nightrealm Apocalypse”. You hear the typical SATHANAS Black / Thrashing vibe right from the start. In terms of sound and production this is a damned heavy fear monger. You can even say that the sound is a nice mixture between modern into the face (especially the drumsound) and the more tradtional Metal edge. The Pennsylvania based trio maintain a high quality level and most of all the songs remain catchy as hell. Already the opener 'Written In Blood' or the follow up 'Satan’s Cross' are real handbangers driven by a blasphemic energy! SATHANAS are not about technical stuff, but the tracks are filled with small details and remarkable parts. Damned good work! The same goes for the cover artwork done by Spanish rising illustrator Juanjo Castellano. It really fits the essence of the band like a fist in the face! Lyrically don’t expect philosophical bullshit because in the end SATHANAS remain SATHANAS! I think this album can easily apply as well to fans of DESASTER, NIFELHEIM, DESTROYER 666 and alikes, so time to show some respect to those longtime running US underground underdogs! Good job in Metallic devil worshipping! The CD version will be out on Doomentia. Unfortunately I’m lacking in info for a vinyl version, actually the truly best fitting format for this band!!!
