It is funny how people often tend to point out that Metalheads are close minded people when it comes to their music genre. What those people have not realized is that Metal itself is its own universe these days. We’re not in the 80s anymore when we had only a handful of subgenres and less diversity, that was not bad, but definitely to survive you have to evolve. Dark music not always has to be heavy or fast. There are great examples of bands who have the ability to create an eerie atmosphere like coming from your favorite horror movie, and SCORPIO DOCTRINE is one of them. Coming from Finland, a land very well known for their Metal tradition, it is very refreshing to listen to this Dark Wave / Industrial outfit who can sound as macabre and obscure as your favorite Black Metal band. What I like the most about SCORPIO DOCTRINE is that they can do all the mentioned above in a very peaceful and sublime way. The acoustic passages are just done very effectively showing their Neofolk influences. Let’s see what the future brings from these guys when they release their debut full length. www.facebook.com/scorpiodoctrine, www.saturnalrecords.com
