I can almost hear the complaints: "Sounds like we had this 15 years ago" and they're right! But I don't give a damn! People buying CDs with the Iron Glory logo know what to expect: home of the gods MANILLA ROAD, re-releases of early HELSTAR demos, etc. - old school Power and Thrash Metal is the law! SOLITAIRE from Finland are one of their new signings. They're thrashing in the old EXCITER style - not innovative but full of passion. SOLITAIRE obviously dig their own sound a lot as I can almost see the band performing this on stage going absolutely crazy with a fanatic moshpit in front of them. Most of the songs are full speed ahead (talking in old school Thrash Metal terms), the solos are well executed and singer Mika is screaming out his lungs like a maniac. Passionately, but surely not everybody's taste. The sound is good, but you can realize the low budget Iron Glory are working with. Check out my personal favorite, 'Eye Of The Needle' and if you're into bands like EXCITER, EXODUS, AGENT STEEL or even MOTÖRHEAD you'll be pleased to hear there are still young bands around killing in the old style. www.solitairemetal.com
