STINY PLAMENU
STINY PLAMENU
Odpadni Galerie
(Naga Productions)
61:02min

This band needs a new name like the Singaporeans ABVULABASHY or perhaps even more so. I have yet to hear of one so unintelligible and just phonetically goofy. What is that? STINKY PLA-MENU? Horrible. I mean of all the names a group can choose from STINY PLAMENU is the one you all raise your fists in the air too?! Anyhow - obviously STINY are the hard-asses of the Naga Productions roster and PLAMENU, make their presence known as being ultra heavy, guillotine quick Black Metal. This CD is from 2005 and shows a moderate sense of musical knowledge as they try fuse Black Metal with more catchy Metal and even attempt galloping Thrash within the first few songs. Not original by any means, but for Czechoslovakians who might not know any better this could pass as something beneficial or worthwhile to their country's scene. As the CD rolls on, more eras of Metal are explored. I hear a lot of melodic MAIDEN approaches, an operatic female singer, some Doom Metal intricacies and more damned keyboards than the law should allow. That said from the band's own Myspace site they quote their sound as "wastewater Black Metal" while citing MARDUK, SIEBENBURGEN, SETHERIAL, DARK FUNERAL, PRIMORDIAL, THY LEGION and DISSECTION as their influences. Um... Wastewater?... Really? You decide... Contact: www.myspace.com/diveintothewastewater or www.stinyplamenu.mysteria.cz or www.naga-productions.com
