TERROR OF THE TREES
TERROR OF THE TREES
Devil Worship
(self-financed)
17:42min

I have no idea whether this one man project is supposed to be taken serious or not, but honestly spoken - I don't really care as long as I can enjoy the music delivered... and I certainly do, in this case! TERROR OF THE TREES, the brainchild of SUN DESCENDS producer "His Eminence The Wicked", has musically very little in common with Mem von Stein's new outfit. The featured five songs (plus intro) are a lot more primitive sounding and therefore pretty often remind me on an early BATHORY influenced incarnation of HELLHAMMER with old Kerry King type leads. Totally old school, but very effective and probably not suitable for the new generation of fans that prefer the fat production / nice'n'safe type of releases. In all of the songs you can almost feel the old magic, that new bands unfortunately tend to lack in most of the time and that only those are able to deliver the right way, who experienced the extreme Metal scene's evolution right from the start. Don't know if this CD-R is meant for sale, but somehow I hope it is as the material is definitely a lot more convincing than most of the crap that zillions of faceless youngsters are coming up with these days. I don't have a direct contact for you, but you should manage to get in touch with this project through the SUN DESCENDS website www.sundescends.com
