TWILIGHTFALL
TWILIGHTFALL
The Energy Of Soul
(Svarga Music)
38:47min

Coming almost out of nowhere, this band form the Ukraine is the demon child of guitar player Wortherax who used to be a part of NOKTURNAL MORTUM. On this, their debut album, they do a quite different music style. There is a strong melodic Death Metal sound, which refers to early IN FLAMES, DARK TRANQUILLITY and CHILDREN OF BODOM. Yes, that means that a very strong Heavy Metal sound is infused with aggressive parts and deathly vocals. The overall production and sound is very good and extremely well played, but within all this strong sound, there is also a very strong sound of early Dutch Death / Doom Metal where the very first album of THE GATHERING comes to mind more than once. Notice that the band has not a doomy sound, but at times it does recall the atmosphere of the style while keeping it fast most of the time. This is the kind of album that needs a repeated listening for two major motives, one to find out that even if a quick listen will tell you that they might be another melodeath band with a Swedish sound, they are more than that, and two because one can sense a definitive influence of their native land in their music in a way that is hard to describe, but it is easy to feel with the music. Fans of the first wave of melodic Death Metal bands will surely worship this, and there is even more to it for those daring to go deeper. Very good album www.svarga.eu
