Overload 2 - Tribute To Metallica
(Dwell Records)
65:00min

I missed part one of this METALLICA tribute compilation, so I can't really tell you whether this part two is any better or worse. But one thing's for sure: "Overload 2" is (despite a handful of interesting bands that are contributing) another waste of money. None of the twelve cover tunes is able to come any close to METALLICA's originals, nor does any band deliver something really unique (well, except for Netherlands SOLARISIS maybe who turned 'Nothing Else Matters' into something more brutal and powerful). NEW EDEN and LAST CHAPTER are holding the Power Metal flag high while the rest of the bands is rooted in the Death Metal underground exclusively. The biggest letdown in this department comes from Florida's blastmasters DIABOLIC, who not only have chosen a song from the infamous 'black album' ('The God That Failed'), they even decided NOT to DIABOLICalize it (which would certainly have been way more interesting)! Their usually very intense and brutal approach is unfortunately completely missing here... So, all in all this is just another faceless tribute among the dozens of already existing METALLICA tributes...
