Relapse Singles Series Vol.3
(Relapse Records)
36:11min

I know that volume 5 of this compilation series is already out by now and that we just had reviewed it yesterday, but as Gordon at Relapse was nice enough to send us a copy of this one as well, I think we shouldn't ignore it, no matter how "dated" it may be... And the material on offer already stood the test of time pretty easily as it comes from the EPs by 4 bands that are all alltime faves of mine: ROTTREVORE, REPULSION, MONSTROSITY and INCANTATION! So, I guess it's needless to say that I consider this as the best part of this great series. For those of you who haven't bought it yet, let me tell you that it has the following EPs on it: "Copulation Of The Virtuous And Vicious" (ROTTREVORE - 4 tracks), "Excruciation" (REPULSION - 2 tracks), "Burden Of Evil" (MONSTROSITY - 2 tracks) and "Deliverance Of Horrific Prophecies" (INCANTATION - 3 tracks). All of them originally came out on vinyl back in 1991, are of course completely sold out by now and therefore should be expensive collectors items. So, this is a cool opportunity to add them to your collection nevertheless, even though its in a different format now (hey, the good thing is, this way you can listen to them in your car or portable CD player everywhere now). Check out www.relapse.com for all further info and ordering details.
