SKULLCRUSHER
SKULLCRUSHER
Issue # 11
(48 pages, A4, printed, in German)

Truly a highly professional done zine we got with the new SKULLCRUSHER issue here! The high quality printing, the effective, tidy and tasteful layout, the quality of the interviews - everything is top notch... As a kind of underground alternative to major zines like ROCK HARD or HAMMER the bands featured are from all kinds of Metal genres and include METAL CHURCH, ADRIAN SMITH, KRISIUN, MONSTROSITY, PSYCHOTRON, BLOODSTAINED COFFIN, NECROID, EDGUY, INCAPACITY, CRUACHAN, ACHERON, ANVIL and HAN JIN OAKLAND. In addition to that you get a couple of entertaining "nonsense" interviews and columns, which vary between being really funny and utterly stupid and thus superfluous (e.g. "Der Regisseur" interview). Apart from the fluctuations in the SKULLCRUSHER's "comedy department" the zine's stylistic "open-mindedness" is something that does not appeal to me at all. I prefer zines which focus on fewer Metal subcategories and keep the content more constricted, but that is a highly subjective comment... so give a fuck about it! This is a well done zine for people who gave up on looking for honest statements and opinions in the aforementioned "big ones". SKULLCRUSHER is an excellent option for people interested in a wide scope on the Metal genre and I hope it receives your support. I'm a little bit too illiberal to appreciate it totally... The price is absolutely great: 3 little Euros!!! Send them to: SkullCrusher Magazine, c/o Harald Deschler, Hurstweg 23, 79114 Freiburg, Germany, skullcrushermagazine@web.de, www.skullcrusher.net
