Drag Us Into Hell

To clear the position first. I have to confess, BERZERK are people I know from far so I might be prejudiced. But since bands like JULITH KRISHUN or THE TANGLED LINES (and few others) broke up, the scene around Dresden seemed more or less passed away for a couple years. So it’s nice to witness, that finally new waves breaking fresh ground around here. And one of them are BERZERK. Founded 2013, they obviously initiated dozens of rehearsal rituals, got a good studio with someone who knows and likes that music, and here is what found the light: "Drag Us To Hell". A bastard-born creature between Hardcore, Crust and Death’n’Roll. Reminding me a bit of the superb THE NOW-DENIAL, with a drop of Thrash / Death acid. They manage to disguise the arrow point of their music hereby pretty well. Means they use a wide range of their style. What assumes wide-ranged listeners. Besides, sometimes the voice seems to be left alone or maybe doesn’t reach the musical conception, or the riffing gallops from one willow to the other in two ticks, there are no real issues. Because the arrangements fulfill a perfect job in case of gluing it all together. And that’s the main entrainment on "Drag Us Into Hell". Tight played riff battles, easily consumable. A focused and skilled drummer including a good leveled sound on all the instruments. That’s what transforms that situation into fist-raising middle-finger campaign. It’s no album with special miracles. Nothing to sit at home and think about the mysteries of music universe and 14-string basses (Groove Metal?). More like a situation in which you struggle if another “Kirsch” would be a good idea for now. The ulterior motive of "Drag Us Into Hell" stays therefore pretty much the same. Find your spot close to the stage! Make sure the cup is filled! And simply wait for the first elbow. BERZERK are that kind of band.
