Generation Kill

Kill. Murder. Corpse mutilation. Skulls blown to pieces by a pump-action Remington 870 shotgun. Finland’s murder patrol, CASKET, loves killing – especially on their releases. CASKET that was formed well over 6 years ago, has got their 4th demo released, titled "Generation Kill", which pretty much also sums up what they are all about musically. Having only 2 new songs (‘Soldier Of Torture’ and ‘Generation Kill’ that are) recorded for this latest effort of theirs, CASKET reveals clearly – with all its colors of blood-red and gunpowder-black, these 5 blood-craving fellows are out there again, determinedly ready to carry out an instant kill or two. CASKET’s modern, mostly US-tinged Death Metal is fast, brutal and flawlessly executed technical-wise – and it’s actually quite enjoyable (even if kind of unoriginal though), I have to confess that. If some band comparisons are needed, there are some elements in CASKET’s severe and technical Death Metal that spring a few other fellow torch bearers of Death Metal’s brutalism lightly to my mind – those bands being TORTURE KILLER and SOTAJUMALA. An American sounding, brutal Death Metal with a Finnish twist? I think that’s precisely how they sound like – and I bet there are a bunch of you who undoubtedly subscribe this as a good enough description about them, too. With the 2 songs that are presented on "Generation Kill", I cannot see any reason why this band wouldn’t be snapped even soon by some label, although I have to say a small dose of originality would not harm them much either. The band is ready, but question of curiosity is, are you ready to confront the band’s murderous and lethal full firepower next? www.casketmetal.com, www.myspace.com/casketband
